The quarterly review is the moment to lift your head out of the day to day and look at the business with perspective. Three months is long enough for trends to show, but short enough to correct course before it is too late. It is the cadence at which most teams decide what they double down on and what they drop.

Without a script, the review turns into a celebration of the good or a hunt for someone to blame for the bad, and in neither case do you leave with a plan. This list takes you from the hard data to the decisions: first look at the numbers honestly, then listen to the team and customers, and end with clear priorities for the quarter ahead.

The review run

These are the points the template brings, from gathering data to sharing the plan:

  • Gather the quarter's metrics in one place
  • Compare against the objectives set at the start
  • Review the real revenue and costs
  • Analyze the biggest wins and why they worked
  • Analyze the misses and their root causes
  • Collect customer feedback, not just internal figures
  • Hear from each team area
  • Define the next quarter's priorities
  • Set the objectives and their measurable metrics
  • Share the plan with the whole team

How it works in Foco

On import, Foco creates the "Quarterly" job with these steps in the List view, grouped by date to separate the data gathering phase from deciding and communicating. You tick off each step as you go, and since the review comes back every three months, you set recurrence so it reappears on its own without recreating it.

You can assign each area's analysis to its owner, attach voice or text notes with conclusions as they come up in conversation, and set a reminder to block the review day in advance.
