The difference between a productive week and one that slips away between meetings and fires is rarely working more hours, it is deciding where those hours will go before you start. Fifteen minutes on Monday choosing priorities saves you hours of drifting the rest of the week reacting to whatever lands.
This list gives you a light routine to open and close the week: set a few priorities, protect time for them, and on Friday look at what got done and what carries over. That close is the part almost everyone skips, and it is exactly what stops the same tasks from rolling week to week without moving.
The week's routine
These are the points the template brings, from Monday's start to Friday's close:
- Review last week's open items
- Note the three priorities for the week
- Block time for deep work without interruptions
- Go over meetings and commitments already set
- Prepare the tasks for each day
- Define Monday's first task so you do not start cold
- Save a slot for the unexpected
- Do a midweek check in and readjust
- Close the week on Friday looking at what got done
- Note what to carry into next week
How it works in Foco
On import, Foco creates the "Week" job with these steps in the List view, grouped by date into Today, This week, and Later, so you see at a glance what is due today and what can wait. You tick off each step as you go and drag whatever you did not finish into next week.
Since the routine repeats every week, you set recurrence on the fixed steps (Monday's planning, Friday's close) so they show up on their own, and you dictate any new task by voice, which Foco reads for date and priority on the fly.
