Assignment tracker

When every subject hands out its own assignment with its own deadline, it is only a matter of time before one slips past you. The math task is due Tuesday, the history paper Friday and the English exercise next week, and all of it lives across different notebooks, class chats and sticky notes. Your grade does not drop from not knowing, it drops from handing in late or forgetting a deadline existed at all. This board gathers every assignment in one place and shows the real status of each one.

It is built for the student who wants to stop studying with the water up to their neck. Each card is a specific assignment moving from to do to graded, so at a glance you know how many are pending, how many are underway and which you already handed in. Watching the to-do column fill up is the cue to get going, well before the deadline catches you with no room to spare.

Four states of an assignment

The board follows the life cycle of each task across four columns:

To do

Everything you have been set and not yet started. Noting it here the moment you know is half the work.

• Note the new assignment with its subject
• Set the due date as soon as you know it

In progress

You are on it. Separating what you are doing from what you have not touched keeps the overwhelm away.

• Gather the material and notes you need
• Start working on it without leaving it to the last day

Handed in

You sent it. One last look before submitting avoids silly mistakes that cost points.

• Review before submitting that it is complete
• Submit the assignment through the channel the teacher wants

Graded

It has a mark now. Going over the corrections is where you really learn for the next one.

How it works in Foco

When you import the template, Foco creates the "School" workspace with these four columns and each assignment as a card. On desktop you drag the card from To do to In progress as you go; on mobile you move with the tabs at the top, handy between classes. Each card takes a due date, a reminder to warn you the day before, and a voice note to record what the teacher said without wasting time copying it down.

Because Foco handles several workspaces at once, you can keep the school board next to your other things and see them all in Panorama, each in its own color, so studies do not mix with everything else and you know right away which deadlines are near.
