Bug tracking

Bugs that have no fixed home end up forgotten in a chat, an email, or the head of whoever saw them, and resurface weeks later as if they were new. The hard part is usually not fixing them, it is not losing sight of them and knowing which ones are urgent. Without a clear flow, you fix whatever shouts loudest rather than whatever does the most harm.

This board orders bugs from the moment they are reported until they are verified as resolved, with a stop to prioritize before anyone starts fixing. It works for a developer managing their own bug backlog and for a team receiving reports from several sources that needs none of them to go unattended.

From report to resolved

Each bug enters on the left and moves across columns as it gets prioritized, worked on, reviewed and closed. These are the stages and their tasks.

Reported

The intake for every new bug. The better described it arrives, the less time is wasted later trying to reproduce it. The first card is an example of how to frame a report.

How it works in Foco

On import, Foco creates the "Bugs" job as a Kanban board with these five columns. Each bug is a card you drag from one column to the next as it progresses: on desktop with drag and drop, and on mobile by switching between each column's tabs.

Assign each card to whoever is investigating it, attach the log or screenshot as a photo inside the task, and if you work across several projects, Panorama shows the bugs from all your jobs at once, each in its job's color.
