Most podcasts die not from a lack of talent but a lack of consistency: they start with energy, publish five episodes in a row and then go weeks without releasing anything because none was ready behind it. A podcast that lasts is the one that always has something recording while another is edited and the next one is being planned. This board keeps that rhythm by placing each episode in the phase it is truly in.

It works for the solo podcast and for the team that splits recording and editing. Each card is a specific episode moving from a loose idea to published audio. A balanced board, with things in every column, is the sign the flow is healthy; everything piled in Ideas and nothing in Recording warns that a gap in publishing is coming.

Four phases of each episode

The board moves each episode from idea to air across four columns:

Ideas

The bank of future episodes. Keeping several topics saved here is what stops you going blank.

• Note the episode topic and its angle
• Find a guest if the episode calls for one

Recording

The topic is decided and it is time to record. A good script makes the recording half as long.

• Prepare the script or the question outline
• Record the episode with a guest or solo

Editing

The raw audio becomes something listenable. This is where the quietest but most decisive work lives.

• Cut and clean the audio of silences and mistakes
• Add intro, music and outro

Published

The episode is out, but uploading it is only half. If nobody hears about it, it does not matter how good it is.

• Upload to the platform with title and description
• Announce on social so people actually listen

How it works in Foco

When you import the template, Foco creates the "Podcast" workspace with these four columns and each episode as a card. On desktop you drag the card from Ideas to Recording and on to Published; on mobile you switch columns with the tabs at the top. Each card takes a recording date, a reminder, an owner if you work as a team, and a voice note to capture a topic idea or a question for the guest without typing.

Because Foco handles several workspaces at once, if you run more than one show you can keep a board per show and see them all in Panorama, each in its own color, so you know at a glance which one needs you to record now.
