A site can have great content and still not show up in results because of technical faults nobody checks. Pages that load slowly, links that lead to errors, undescribed images or duplicate titles quietly chip away at your positions, because none of those problems are visible at a glance while browsing. An SEO audit is the ordered review that brings all of it to light before it costs you visits.
This template promises no magic and no tricks, only an honest run through the points that actually move ranking. It works for reviewing your own site or auditing a client's before you propose improvements. The key is noting what you find at each point, because an audit with no written conclusions is worthless: the real value comes afterwards, when you prioritize the fixes by impact.
The points the audit reviews
These are the steps the template brings, from performance to the improvement plan:
- Check loading speed on mobile and desktop
- Test the mobile version, which is what counts today
- Analyze titles and descriptions on every key page
- Look for broken links that leave the user on an error
- Review the heading structure, a single h1 per page
- Verify the sitemap and that it is submitted to the search engine
- Go over the keywords and whether the content answers them
- Check image alt text for accessibility and SEO
- Review duplicate content that competes with itself
- Note improvements by priority based on effort and impact
How it works in Foco
When you import it, Foco creates the "SEO" workspace with these tasks in the List view. You tick each point as you review it and, for whatever you find wrong, use the task's text note to write down the specific finding, or a photo with a screenshot of the error. That way the audit stays documented inside each task and not in a separate document that later gets lost.
If you audit sites regularly, turn on recurrence for the list to repeat the review every quarter without rebuilding it. You can assign the technical fixes to one person and the content ones to another, and set a reminder to measure speed again once the changes are applied.
