A product launch is not a day, it is a process that touches marketing, product, sales and content at once, and where order matters: you cannot write the press release before the message is clear, or publish the page before it is ready. When each part works in isolation without seeing the whole, the classics appear, the landing published without the video, the email sent with a broken link.

This board splits the launch into clear phases, from preparation to the follow-up afterwards, so at any moment anyone on the team can see what is done, what is in motion and what is missing. It works for a big launch with press as much as for shipping a new feature without drama.

From prep to follow-up

The board runs left to right: each task moves across columns as it matures, from being prepared to having its results measured. These are the phases and their tasks.

Preparation

The foundation of the launch: without a message, date and page there is nothing solid to build the rest on.

  • Define the message and target audience
  • Set a realistic launch date
  • Prepare the product page

Content

All the material that goes with the launch, ready before the day so nothing is rushed.

  • Write the press release
  • Record a demo video
  • Prepare social posts

Launch

D-day: publish and notify every channel in a coordinated way.

  • Publish the product page
  • Send the email to the list
  • Post to social and communities

After

The launch does not end at publish: the first hours and days tell you whether it worked and what to improve.

  • Reply to press and users
  • Measure results against the goals
  • Capture learnings for the next launch

How it works in Foco

On import, Foco creates the "Launch" job as a Kanban board with these four columns and their cards inside. As each piece progresses, you drag it from one column to the next: on desktop with drag and drop, and on mobile by switching between each column's tabs.

You can assign each card to the person handling it, and when you work across several projects, Panorama shows tasks from all your jobs at once, each in its job's color, so the launch does not get lost among the rest.
